How to read this puzzle

Space items can have a Nauvis recipe unlock. This puzzle is a good example of why the crafting tab and the unlock column describe different things: one classifies the item, while the other describes progression.

Start this worked example with Space Platform Foundation. The six signals below show what that guess tells you about the answer.

From the clues to the answer

1. Keep Space and Nauvis together

   Space Platform Foundation matches the Space tab and Nauvis unlock. There is no contradiction: the answer belongs to the Space category but its recipe becomes available through Nauvis progression. Avoid discarding that combination just because the item is intended for space.

2. Use both arrows as bounds

   The guess takes 10 seconds and stacks to 100. The upward craft-time arrow means the answer takes longer than 10 seconds; the downward stack arrow means it stacks to fewer than 100. These are inequalities, not the answer’s exact values. The exact Assembler clue keeps the machine family fixed.

3. Check the shared steel

   Twenty Steel Plates match exactly, while Copper Cable is not a direct input. The answer also has more than the guess’s two input types.
