How to read this puzzle

Logistic chests can share a complete recipe and still differ in progression. This puzzle also demonstrates Factoriodle’s equivalent-answer rule: if two items produce all six exact clues, either one wins.

Start this worked example with Passive Provider Chest. The six signals below show what that guess tells you about the answer.

From the clues to the answer

  1. Five exact clues are not quite a win

Passive Provider Chest matches the Logistics tab, the entire recipe, Assembler, a 0.5-second craft time, and a stack of 50. The shared recipe is one Steel Chest, three Electronic Circuits, and one Advanced Circuit. Only the recipe-unlock column misses.

  2. Use the remaining distinction

Passive Provider Chest has a Nauvis unlock in this dataset. Active Provider Chest is classified as Space because of the progression needed for Logistic System. That does not mean the chest must be placed in space. It means the unlock history differs even though the physical recipe is identical.

  3. Accept indistinguishable items

Active Provider Chest, Buffer Chest, and Requester Chest share all six properties in the game’s dataset. The scheduled answer was Active Provider Chest, but any of these three counts as correct. There is no need to spend guesses trying to distinguish items when the clues cannot distinguish them.

Take this into your next puzzle

When every clue matches except unlock, keep the recipe and inspect progression. When all six clues match, the game accepts the item—even if its name differs from the scheduled answer.
